Meet Scott
A fifth-generation Fairfield native, Scott Tonnesen has roots here that run deeper than most. He came up through Fairfield’s own schools, built a family and a business right here, and has spent a lifetime showing up for the community that raised him. For Scott, giving back to Fairfield has never been a slogan — it’s simply who he is.
Scott’s career began at his father’s local appraisal company, sparking a lifelong passion for helping people put down roots of their own. He spent over a decade as a licensed real estate appraiser and has worked as a licensed mortgage broker ever since, guiding countless Fairfield families toward homeownership.
Scott currently serves as Fairfield’s Councilmember for District 2, elected in 2020 and re-elected in 2024. His record of service runs deep: eight years on the Fairfield Planning Commission — three as chair — helping bring new employers and opportunity to the city; leadership as president of the Fairfield Main Street Association, championing local small businesses; and service on the Tripartite Advisory Board, the CDBG Committee, and as an honorary commander for Travis Air Force Base. Whether it’s flipping pancakes, judging the Independence Day Parade, or joining a neighborhood clean-up, Scott shows up — and he’s ready to bring that same hands-on, community-first energy to leading the whole city as Mayor.
